Leandro Mamede was born in 1978 in the city of São Paulo. From a very early age, he showed a strong interest in and natural affinity for classical music. At the age of eight, he began his piano studies, quickly standing out for his talent. At fourteen, he was awarded a full scholarship to the L. V. Beethoven Musical Conservatory, where he achieved first place in the 1994 competition.

Two years later, he continued his studies with pianist Dikea Calafatas, a graduate of the Paris Conservatory, who studied under the guidance of renowned masters Marguerite Long, Nadia Boulanger, and Stefan Ashkenazy. Some years later, Mamede entered São Paulo State University (UNESP), where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a specialization in Piano, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Claudio Richerme, a student of the acclaimed pianist Guiomar Novaes.

Mamede is also a member of Duo Cantabille, sharing the stage with cellist Marina Estanislau. The duo presents a rich and diverse repertoire spanning works from various musical periods and performs in numerous concert halls and theaters in São Paulo and beyond.

He is currently the director and a professor at the Leandro Mamede School of Music (ELM), where he develops and prepares students for competitions, concerts, and chamber music performances. The school also offers a wide range of extracurricular musical activities.
